Ok, so I have seen so many beautiful decorated cakes using fondant. Although at first I didn't really buy the idea of covering cakes with fondant because it makes the cakes look sort-of-like inedible. But I am so intrigued by its ability to quickly transform a normal look cake to amah-zing cake!
I decided to use home made fondant because besides the better taste, it is also fun to new learn things! After thorough research, I decided to have a go at making marshmallow fondant - they say it's easy and it tastes good! And it's truuee... for the taste.. But for the easiness... not so much, I had trouble in kneading the dough with powdered sugar. It's killing my arms! Fyi, I don't have KitchenAid or any kind of standing mixer, so my hand mixer is not strong enough to knead the dough, thus I had to do it manually. By hands. But it's okay, besides, kneading = burn calories = good for the triceps/biceps ;)
So here it goes, my first fondant cupcakes masterpiece (well.. not really a master piece, just my first). Drum rolls please...

Ta Daa...
In case that you have trouble translating the fondant figurines I made, the birthday cupcakes theme was golf.
I really really had fun in doing the fondant figurines, it's challenging and the cupcakes now look so prettyyy! Loving the fondant now!
I must say, the most challenging parts were the golf cart and the human! It was so hard. But I must especially give my thanks to Kimberley with her wonderful, easy-to-follow and detailed tutorial of fondant figure modelling. The cupcakes wouldn't be finished without you!
In case you are wondering, "a pig in the middle of golf course?", well I decided to put pig because the birthday boy really loves to eat pork! Lol, hence the 'eat me' talk bubble in front of the pig.
Btw, sorry for the bad picture, it was taken in a hurry as I had to deliver the cupcakes in less than an hour as I just finished decorating them. I'll keep in mind to take better picture next time.
That's all for now... Ciao.
*hugs*
